Happy Spring!
As another year comes to a close, I am so happy with the progress all my students have made. It has been such a pleasure to work with such open minded and intellectually curious students and to see their growth through music.

Spring Recital

Just a reminder that the spring recital will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. The recital will once again be held at Classic Pianos (1332 S. Broadway) Several of you have already mentioned to me that you will not be able to attend the recital. If you haven't, please let me know. FYI, there will also be an alternative DAMTA recital on May 15 at 2:00 p.m. if you would still like your child to participate in a recital.

Kudos to...

Charlotte McHughs and Daniel McHughs for earning their first gold cups through the National Federation of Music Clubs' Junior Festival. In order to earn these cups, Charlotte and Daniel had to earn Superior ratings three years in a row in the Piano Solo Event. Charlotte also earned an additional gold cup in the Theory Event by scoring a 90 or above for three years in a row. If you are interested in future participation in this event, please let me know.
Audrey Todd for earning her second Superior rating in the NFMC Junior Festival Piano Solo Event and for scoring her first Superior in the Theory Event.
Cecilia Volk for earning her first Superior rating in the NFMC Junior Festival Piano Solo Event and for scoring her first Excellent in the Theory Event.

Entering the studio...

As most of you may have read/seen, we pulled up the carpet and refinished our floors over Spring Break. Shoe removal is now highly encouraged but not required.

Summer Lessons

As most of you know tuition for May includes the first week of June. Please let me know if your child will be interested in taking lessons during the remaining weeks of June so I can schedule and plan accordingly. My husband and I are planning on listing our house in May and estimate that closing will take 30 days. We hope to be able to purchase a new home during the summer but with this crazy real estate market are unsure if that will happen. If closing occurs before the end of June, I will make arrangements to teach lessons either at your home or via Skype/Facetime. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
